Fiction becomes fact

I wasn't too far off, when I made a joke about the job ad for the next head of the CNSC. Now, the government is adding conditions to make the job more subservient, and less concerned about nuclear safety. They are adding 'must obey gov't about isotopes, when called'.

I read this too, and am having nightmares. What's next? Ensuring that enough electricity gets generated for Ontario; therefore CANDUs must not be shut down ever for whatever reason? This makes a sad joke of nuclear "regulation". I can't see anyone reasonable wanting this job, which means it will only go to some toady. Awful.

The first thing the toady should do is approve the new Maple reactors! After all, they are 'as safe as ever'. Then, we would never have another isotope crisis again!

Once the Maples are running full blast, we can shut down the old thing, which will probably crap out soon anyway, throwing us into another crisis, where Harper will have to legislate the Maple approval, no sweat!
