When I read this article, it brought to mind the mud volcano in Indonesia. It just seems things are a bit close to the wire. What standards would they use for safety? Should some standards organization set an exclusion zone? Would the fear of the populace allow a terrorist to find comfort? They should definitely work with the people to allay fear. Monitoring stations, emergency drills, etc.
