Very interesting, the downside of shale gas drilling.  They decided to get rid of all that radioactive water by injecting it deep into the tail end of the giant New Madrid fault mechanism.  This is probably Not a Good Thing!

With all the shale gas work going on, I expect more of this in the future.

Sounds familiar. Basel was destroyed by an earthquake in 1356...

Yes, there are many such incidents, and I include high dams with this water injection. Although I think injection can only bring up an M5, the earthquake could be the start of a classic fault domino effect. This may have happened with the China M8. I recommend deep injection for Hamilton! :)
